Ilmington is 4 miles north of Shipston-on-Stour on the northernmost edge of the Cotswolds. It is largely unspoilt and has been well preserved, with many of the buildings of Cotswold stone.The Rectory and Manor House are 16th century. There is a lovely walk to the top of Campden Hill, the highest point in Warwickshire, and the climb is well worth the panoramic views. The wonderfully named hamlet of Compton Scorpion is nearby.
