| Monkton Combe is 3
miles from Bath, in the lovely valley of Limpley Stoke. The
village occupies a curving main street with most of the houses on one
side of the road belonging to Monkton Combe School. At the end of the
street is a late 19th century Church, cheek-by-jowl with the former
brewery, which has been turned into flats. Next to it is a group of the
oldest buildings in the village, including a farmhouse from
around 1490, an ancient dovecot and stone barn. |
