Rissington dates
back to at least 1086. The church is over 900 years old, the village
pub
and green are several hundred years old. There are very few modern
buildings. It is a sleepy, friendly village that is off the beaten
track, some residents have lived here their whole lives. No tourist
coaches here, just country life. Yet just 5 miles away are the famous
centres of Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on the-Wold and Burford.

Rissington is
2.5 miles east of Bourton-on-the-Water. The village
is situated next to the site of RAF Little Rissington, and much of its
housing was originally built as officers' quarters. The street names
give a clue to the village's former life, having names such as Sopwith Road and Avro
Road. |
