| Thrupp
is 2 miles from Stroud. The village starred as itself in the TV series Morse in the Last Bus to Woodstock.
In Thrupp is The Boat public house with its open fire and beamed
ceilings, and a gentle, short stroll along the Oxford Canal towpath leads to the Jolly Boatman. There are
many walks to be enjoyed nearby, either canal-side or along the banks of the River Cherwell, which
is abundant with wildlife and birds. A ˝-hour walk along the towpath or
short drive in the car leads to Kidlington which has several
supermarkets, post office, chemists, launderette and various pubs and
cafés. There is a nearby Park and Ride service into the city of Oxford
as well as a regular bus service from the village. |
