| Trowbridge
is the county town of Wiltshire and is situated on the River Biss,
approximately 12 miles from Bath. The town centre is compact, and the

Castle Place shopping centres provide a wide variety of outlets. There
is much of architectural interest, including many of the old buildings
associated with the textile industry, and the Newtown conservation
area, a protected zone of mostly Victorian houses.
